Please help us spread the word! Our teams continue to meet and plan for the start of the 20/21 school year. We are working to offer digital registration this year or delivering packets to homes. We will update everyone as we move ahead. We plan to have class from 8:00-2:00 Monday-Friday for all students. The 1st day students will attend on campus will be August 20th. We will offer remote learning for students if families are uncomfortable sending students to school. Details on this will come out as we develop these plans. Unfortunately with how quickly things change these days we are developing alternative plans in the event the State reverts back to a different phase. We will have a survey coming out this week for families to fill out to help us make decisions about school in the fall. This will be a google survey and the link will be sent out. We are working on student supply lists and hope to have them out this week. Please hang in there with us as we work to open CUSD #200 under these circumstances. We want to give our students all the opportunities we can as school resumes. Thank you for all the support! Mr. Heavner / Mr. Turner / Transition Team

Update
Good afternoon- I hope everyone is staying healthy and well and summer is going great. I want to share some information about the upcoming year ahead. I am thrilled to say we are working hard to do our best to return all students to school in August. Our current goal will be all students on campus everyday of the week. We will most likely have an option for families uncomfortable to send to students back to continue remote learning if they choose. These are all currently being worked on and we will share as soon as we can. There are many things we are working through and we need to make sure we get it right. I promise I will update everyone as we make choices and plan in the weeks ahead. Communication during these times will be very important. We will do our best to spread the word across various platforms. I want to be very clear there are state guidelines we as a district must follow and I hope everyone respects the rules that are in place. We have many people to think of on campus and we must plan to limit exposure best we can. Please remember we all want the students back on campus and are playing the hand we have been dealt. We will do our best to make sure kids get the best educational experience we can offer. CUSD #200 will provide masks and face shields to all students and staff. As of today all people on campus when students return will be required to wear them. As with many things during the COVID pandemic things can change quick. We are planning on this scenario but it could change. If you have questions about this or concerns please feel free to contact me about this. I understand there is a wide range of feelings but we must follow the rules laid out by the health department. Kids will be eager to return to school. Everyone here wants this to happen! As always if we can help please let us know. The children need normalcy as much as we can give them and we all look forward to the COVID-19 Pandemic to be over. -Mr.Heavner

Happy Monday! We are in the process of arranging schedules for students next year, and we are still waiting on official guidance from the state regarding what this fall will look like. In the meantime, please send all HS student schedules to the school as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. If you have misplaced a schedule or need a new one, please reach out via email (shobbs@greenviewschools.org) or phone-call (217-968-2295). Also, tentative JH schedules were mailed at the end of last week. Please look those over and send them to the school as soon as you can. Thank you and have a fantastic day!

Work
Good Evening- I want to thank everyone for continued support of our school and community as the 2019-2020 school year winds down. Over the last few weeks the staff has worked hard to finish the year the best we can. It has been incredible to see how everyone has come together supporting our students during this time. I cannot thank everyone enough for all they have done over these trying days. We held graduation and promotion ceremonies last weekend and celebrated some amazing students. I am extremely proud of the hard work the students have done. We have now started planning for the 2020-2021 school year. Some instruction has resumed at school such as our Drivers Eduction program. It has been nice to see Mr. Cameron working with the kids at school. I want to be very clear we intend to do the best we can to open school in August. The best outcome for all children will be to return to classrooms with teachers. The magic that occurs in classrooms is extremely difficult to make happen over technology. It is important for child development that they return to learning with their peers as soon as it can safely be done. The staff has been working hard to prepare the building for the return of students and there will be some major upgrades to the facility. Our teams are looking at various scenarios that may occur but I hope and pray that the state will be open in phase 4 and we will be able to resume educational opportunities for our students. It is important that kids return to school and we will do our best to come up with viable solutions to get students back to campus. We anticipate receiving information next week from the Illinois State Board of Education on the status of school for the Fall of 20. I ask everyone remains patient as we do our best to answer questions about how procedures may go. We have a great deal of planning to do ahead of us but we are eager to work hard to bring students back to school safely. At CUSD #200 we will do everything we can to provide for a safe learning environment. We take the COVID-19 threat seriously. We will stay vigilant as we prepare to open in August. We thank you for your continued support! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out. Mr. Heavner
