Often we speak with our students about helping others and making a difference. Yesterday it was very good to see one of our 5th graders encouraging a classmate who was struggling. This morning one of our kindergarten students was very helpful before school holding the door for others and telling students good morning! It was impressive to see these two young men behaving this way! Keep up the great work!
The school board meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 17th will be postponed until Thursday, October 24th at 6:30 pm.
The 2nd Annual Village of Greenview Christmas Tree Lighting will take place December 7th starting at 6:00 pm. This will be a wonderful event for all!
The teachers are working hard today to improve instruction at a dual training with Williamsville CUSD #15. We thank ROE #51 for helping us arrange such a powerful learning opportunity. We thank Dr. Anthony McConnell and Dr. Jeff Schagrin for so many good strategies! We are very thankful for such a great staff of educators at Greenview CUSD#200!
There is no school tomorrow Friday October 11th for a teacher workshop. There will be no one on campus tomorrow as we work on some electrical upgrades to the school building. School is closed Monday, October 14th for observance of Columbus Day. We hope everyone has a great weekend!

The Greenview Elementary Walk-A-Thon last Friday was a great time! We are so thankful for all the support! The students and staff did a great job getting a workout in as well. Well done everyone!

Running club for elementary students this week is postponed. We will go one extra week. Please contact the office if you have questions.
We are very proud our of girls playing basketball in our co-op with Illini Central! These young ladies are working hard and getting better each time out. You can catch them in action at the Carroll Catholic tournament in Lincoln this week!
The GHS pep band will have optional rehearsals each Wednesday at 7:15 on the stage starting October 9th, 2019. Anyone wishing to have a tutoring/review session, but can’t make Wednesday evening rehearsals feel free to contact Vicky Claycomb to set up another time.
The Greenview High School pep band would love for Alumni/Community members to play with us at home boys basketball games again this year. If you are interested in playing this year contact Vicky Claycomb at school at 217-968-2295 or email vclaycomb@greenviewschools.org.

Mrs. Tippitt’s 5th graders worked on towers and construction techniques last week. The students worked hard and had some creative ideas!

Last week we talked a great deal about our nation and all the things that make it special. One of Mrs. Jacobs Kindergarteners Landon made an American flag for Mr. Heavner and the office staff! Great job Landon! It looks awesome and it is hanging in the unit office!
