We are very proud our of girls playing basketball in our co-op with Illini Central! These young ladies are working hard and getting better each time out. You can catch them in action at the Carroll Catholic tournament in Lincoln this week!

The GHS pep band will have optional rehearsals each Wednesday at 7:15 on the stage starting October 9th, 2019. Anyone wishing to have a tutoring/review session, but can’t make Wednesday evening rehearsals feel free to contact Vicky Claycomb to set up another time.

Last week we talked a great deal about our nation and all the things that make it special. One of Mrs. Jacobs Kindergarteners Landon made an American flag for Mr. Heavner and the office staff! Great job Landon! It looks awesome and it is hanging in the unit office!

Yesterday the STEM club traveled to U of I for the presentation on Creating Photoreal Digital Human Characters for Movies, Games, and Virtual Reality. The lecture was presented by Paul Debevec, Senior Scientist at Google VR and an Adj. Research Prof. at the USC Institute for Creative Technologies. This was an amazing opportunity for the students! We are so proud of the work the STEM club does!

To show support for law enforcement on Friday, September 6th we will be participating in Caps for Cops at the school. Students and Staff will be able to wear a hat for a suggested $1 donation. The money raised will be given to the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation. On Tuesdays in September staff will be able to wear jeans and a color blue shirt for a donation as well. Please consider supporting our cause to support the wonderful 1st responders we have in our community and the State of Illinois!
